The Urban Bike is based in Singapore and specializes in the design and assembly of our very own titanium bicycles with complete carbon belt systems. Seamless aerospace grade tubing. 3AL2.5V (3% & 2.5% vanadium).
Grade 9 in the engineering world In addition to the designing and assembling our bicycles, our services include customized design of titanium frames and forks as well as the build of the complete bicycle.
Why a Belt-Driven Bike?
Belt drives are not really new technology. They are quite common in most of continental Europe and well suited to bike for commuting as they are cleaner, rust free, almost maintenance free and last longer than metal chains.

No Noise – The Carbon Drive belt is virtually silent in most riding conditions.Light Weight – the entire system, 2 sprockets and a belt, weighs less than just a typical chain.No Stretch – The Carbon Drive belt does not stretch over time like a chain.
This means you don’t have to re-tension the belt, or replace the belt due to stretch. Self-Cleaning – The patented CenterTrack and MudPort profiles were designed specifically to shed mud, dirt, snow and other debris to meet the needs and environmental challenges of a bicycle.Life – Testing has shown the Carbon Drive belt to last more than twice the life of chains.
Consistent Efficiency – the Carbon Drive belt provides consistent efficiency over the lifetime of the drive. In contrast, chain efficiency decreases with wear and dirt.No rusty and oily chains. No greasing required and maintenance free.
It requires no lube ever, will get about 10,000 miles of use, is super silent and ridiculously light weight. We can definitely say that it will last almost as long as the frame itself.
Our tires are lighter than most tire and tube combinations. To put this is context, our road tire weights roughly 160g LIGHTER than a Marathon Plus tire.
On top of this you don’t need to carry a pump, spare tube and tool kit…great for saving weight on those commutes and weekend tours.
